Just to make you smile

First Cereal

Tonight was a milestone - Jack had his first spoons of rice cereal! After a big weekend trick or treating and hanging with his cousins, he was an ANGEL on the drive home. Plus, he had to try to overcome the whole time change thing. So mom decided to add ONE MORE THING and try his first cereal. He tried it tonight and did great. We'll try again tomorrow.

Trick or Treat

The family travelled to North Carolina to let Jack trick or treat with his cousins for his first Halloween. Spencer, Cooper and Conner were cool dragons, and Jack was the world's cutest lion. Mandy lives in a great neighborhood, and some neighbors even had special treats for Jack - baby food! It was really sweet. We had a great time.

we trick or treat in style - we ride golf carts!

My Little Boy

Jack had his 4-month check up today. He is doing great and starts some foods next week. I cannot believe it! Where has the time gone? John is already planning our first big family vacation.

The Stats on Jack:
16 pounds and 4 ounces
27" long (97% - don't know where he gets that from)

And he even did great again for his shots. He may be the world's best baby!

Family Hiking Trip

We took our first family hiking trip on Sunday. John found a hike on Mount Pleasant, Virginia, ranked among top 10 in VA. The trail is about 2.5 hours drive from the house. Jack was a trooper for all that time in the car, and seemed to enjoy the hike! John and I managed the 5.5 mile and 1000 foot climb pretty well, considering we had not hiked for a year, and John had Jack on his back! We had a blast, and the mountains were beautiful.

New Hat

Aunt Mandy bought the cutest fall hat for Jack, and we wore it this weekend. As you can see - Jack loves it! Thanks Mandy!

Jack and Dad

Poppy and Jack play all day, so sometimes when John and I come home from work he is pretty mellow and quiet. That is, until after his evening power nap. Then is when we hang out for "talk time". Lay Jack down in a quiet room, on the bed or a blanket (just away from the more interesting play mat), and sit next to him, and get ready to hear about his day. He chats and giggles and likes to grab your face. I caught Jack and John in a serious conversation last week.

Check out that hair!!!
