Can we sound completely cliche and ask HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? OUR BABY IS TURNING ONE!?!? The time has really flown by, and we were all very excited to celebrate Jack's first birthday.
Some help opening presents - we had 3 experts on hand! Thanks Spencer, Cooper and Conner.
Jack made sure to review each card first - very polite!
Because we can see many pool parties, pizza parties and trips to Chuck E Cheese's in our future, we decided to do something EVERYONE could enjoy, duirng this time when Jack just wants to be with everyone. We rented a cabin on a creek in the Virginia mountains and invited my whole family to come. It was great - little to no cell phone reception, perfect weather, good fishing, a waterfall nearby - even charming restaurants and a river paddle (sans Jack and me!).
Jack loved having everyone's attention, and all the down time - 4 straight days of family time.
He took his first 3 independent steps with most of the family looking on, on Saturday June 19.
The cake was enjoyable - he only ate it off the fork - never with his hands.
Poppy got him his "1" shirt which he loves. AND, he actually had fun opening his presents, seeing everyone else get excited etc.
Overall - a dream birthday for us all!
